Photonの無料プランについての調査

概要

Photonでは20CCU制限の無料プランがあります。

有料プランでは商用利用可ですが、無料プランではどうなのでしょうか。

ということで無料プランのライセンスについて自分なりに調査してみました。

On our page about pricing it’s clearly stated that the Free Plan is “perfect for evaluation and development”, as it’s mainly focused on getting you started using our services without the need to pay anything upfront, free with all features enabled, so you can evaluate if the solution is the right choice for your needs.

価格設定に関するページには、無料プランが「評価と開発に最適」であることが明確に記載されています。これは、主に前払いの必要がなく、すべての機能が有効になっている無料のサービス。そのため、ソリューションがニーズに適しているかどうかを評価できます。

For Photon Cloud the free 20 ccu plan is meant for development – so to commercially release a game you would at least need the 100 ccu plan (one time payment).

Photon Cloudの場合、無料の20 ccuプランは開発用です。したがって、ゲームを商用リリースするには、少なくとも100 ccuプラン（1回払い）が必要です。

「無料ライセンスは公開された製品にも使用できるとなっているが、内部テスト専用なので利用規約違反になるのではないか」という質問に対する回答です。

話の流れから、「無料プランは開発用である」「商用利用は100CCUプラン以上が必要」ということは確定でしょう。

では、非営利目的での公開の場合はどうなるでしょうか。

ポジティブとらえれば商用でなければよいようにも読み取れますが、

You can have as many appIDs as you need and you can have as many on them use the free 20CCU plan as you need, but the 20CCU plans are for development only. You are not permitted to use them for any commercial purpose or with endusers of any kind.

必要な数のappIDを使用でき、必要な数のappIDで無料の20CCUプランを使用できますが、20CCUプランは開発専用です。商業目的で、またはあらゆる種類のエンドユーザーと一緒に使用することは許可されていません。
